As Senior Art Manager at Raven, I get to work and learn from some of the most talented developers in the game industry. It's incredible to be part of the Activision Blizzard team and to have the opportunity to build on Raven's staple of historical games. Growing up I was always interested in spending time doing one of three things; drawing comics, skateboarding, or playing computer and console video games. I am definitely still a kid at heart and have always considered myself a gamer and an Artist. While studying at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design I worked at a local game store called Babbage's software which later turned into Gamestop. At Babbage's software I realized how passionate people were about games, the amount of time they spent playing them, and how often these games brought smiles to their faces before, during, and after the purchase. After graduating with a BFA in Industrial Design, I accepted a job in California to work as a Product Designer at a high end Jewelry boutique. One day while working there, I checked the time on my Casio watch and realized that jewelry just wasn't my passion.
My first job in the game industry was as a tester, where I learned about the industry and company I worked for from the inside out. I was able to meet a number of really friendly, talented, and generous people who taught me some valuable lessons and helped me become an Artist in the game industry. My career so far has led me to work at some of the most well known studios in the world including: Sony Computer Entertainment, Midway Games, Rockstar Games and now Activision/Raven. During my employment at these companies I was able to work professionally as a User Interface Designer, Concept Artist, Level Designer, Senior Environment Artist, Senior Character Artist, Lead Artist, and now Senior Art Manager. I am very humbled and proud to have been a part of these amazing games; Rally Cross, Coolboarders 3, Rally Cross 2, 1Xtreme, Twisted Metal 4, Mortal Kombat Special Forces, Cart Fury, NFL Blitz 2002, Redcard 2003, NBA Ballers, and Red Dead Redemption.
