I am Eric Schmidt and started at Raven in the summer of 2008. I have a wife and 3 children. If you want an interesting story ask me about the birth of child number two.
My first career was teaching High School Math and Computer Science at Waunakee High School. I really enjoyed developing the Computer Science program there. When I started it was two courses and only enough enrollment for 2 semester long classes. And now it is a bustling program that has three courses and enough classes to keep 2 teachers busy. The entire focus of one half of one course was learning how to make a video game from start to finish and actually doing it while working together on the project as a class.
Little known fact: I interviewed here at Raven several days afterI led a field trip here back in 2008. I had to bribe the students a bit so they would behave. I miss teaching, but I love my job.
At Raven I have worked on Wolfenstein, and Singularity. Most of that time was spent as a gameplay programmer, but I have also done scripting and design. If you asked my wife she would tell you that what I do at work is exactly what I used to do in my free time. I love logic and math, and really enjoy using them to write a block of code that makes something happen in the game.
